These minerals collections have fine specimens of different sizes. Many classic Spanish localities are represented.
There are fluorites of the most important localities of Asturias, for example, La Collada Mining zone, Berbes Area, Caravia...The most important localities of Fluorite in the north of Spain are very well represented with these specimens. Some very old and unique sphalerites with Calcite and Dolomite from Picos de Europa Mountains. I live really close to this mining areas and this circunstance has permitted to my father and me to pick up, selected specimens of each mine during decades...rare features, unusual pockets..
If you want I will ship with the minerals a CD with photos of the mineral localities in the collection. You will see in this cd a lot of photos of the main localities of the north of Spain. If you want photos of the other spanish localities, is not a problem. All information and labels about the collection will be shipped to the customer.
You can easily find good minerals from Brazil, Pakistan, China, Morocco...but old specimens from these classic spanish localities are very appreciated and very difficult to obtain. Spain has been one of the most mining country of all Europe. Now high metal prices, better exploration techniques and better technologies are seeing a rebirth of Spanish mining and, in particular, the fabulous Iberian Pyrite Belt.
