New suite! Fluorites and associated minerals from different localities of Asturias, Spain.
The suite have minerals from two localities:
- Moscona Mine, Asturias, Spain. Yellow fluorites and associated minerals. The mayority of the pieces are from this mine.
- Emilio Mine, Asturias, Spain. Incolore, light blue fluorites with barite and calcite.
About Emilio ones...
Since many years none important pocket incolore fluorites have appeared in Emilio Mine. Nevertheless, a good pocket was found in the upper level of the mine last September. This was the unique important pocket found last months in this locality. This small, but important find, give us new hopes: maybe new specimens will come out from the mine in the future. Unfortunately, since the date of this find, no more specimens of interest have been found in the mine. It seems so far away those years in which fantastic pieces, mostly incolore fluorite with barite blades were found every month.
About Moscona ones...
Many differents crystallizations and shapes. Some of them are fluorescent, a few calcites in red, and fluorites in white or yellow.
Important note: The color of these fluorites is more intense with sun light, very different hues of blue depending on the ligh source.
This new find was purchase by Spanish Minerals in nearly its entirety.
There are about 240 specimens of different size (85 kilograms).
